The FDA has posted PetSmart’s announcement that the company has issued a voluntary recall of one production lot of Grreat Choice® Adult Dog Food. The recall is a precautionary measure in response to metal contamination that could present a choking hazard to pets.
The recall affects Grreat Choice Adult Dog Food with Chicken & Rice Classic Ground, 13.2 oz cans sold between Oct. 10, 2016 and Feb. 7, 2017; Lot code 1759338.
No other Grreat Choice products are affected by this recall, and PetSmart has not reported any cases of illness or injury related to this product. Any customers who purchased food from within this recalled lot should bring any remaining cans to their local PetSmart store for a refund or exchange.
