Mutt Day

July 31st and December 2nd – Why two dates? There are shelters all across the country which are full of great mixed breed dogs and they need a chance!

Mutt Day was started in 2005 by Colleen Paige, a celebrity pet expert and animal welfare advocate. Mutt Day exists to celebrate and save mixed breed dogs. Many people buy purebred puppies from stores supplied by puppy mills while millions of mutt dogs desperately need a home. They are waiting in shelters for a loving Pet-Parent to rescue them!

Now is a great time to consider adopting a mutt. If you are unable to adopt a pet, you can still help by donating money, supplies, food, or your time to a local animal shelter. You can also share this article on social media to spread awareness of this special day.

Happy Mutt Day!
