December 3rd is Disability Day, a day intended to provide us an opportunity to discuss disability and ways we can become aware of the rights, dignity, and well-being of people with all kinds of disabilities. For some people with disabilities, this also includes a service dog trained to perform tasks and provide needed support.
Check out this video of a teenager suffering from epilepsy who is ready to get a service dog to assist him.
Pets can also have disabilities that require extra support. Max is one such cat. An injury to his spine that happened when he was a young kitten has resulted in hind end paralysis. Max has been undergoing acupuncture with Dr. Amy Hinze, CVA, as seen in the photo above. He has been treated by Linda Franzini, CCRP using laser therapy as well.
