Domestic violence is a terrible problem, not only for children, women and men, but for the animals who live with an abusive person as well. When seeking to escape from domestic violence at home, many struggle with finding a place their pet can be safe. Often times, shelters do not have the means to house companion animals, which leaves those looking for shelter the terrible choice of staying in an abusive environment or leaving the pet there when they go. The Hike for Humanity & Hounds Dog Walk is a fundraiser hosted by the Silent Tears Domestic Violence Foundation to raise needed support for a Safe Space for victims of domestic violence and their pets. Winslow Animal Hospital had the pleasure of joining others at the dog walk. Enjoy these pictures from the event!
