Dr. James graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Queen’s University and her DVM from the University of Guelph. She started working at Norwood Veterinary Services in 2014 and purchased the vet practice with Dr. Scott in 2019. She lives on a farm with her husband, two teenage boys, and Roger and Miss Ninny. When not working, Christine spends her time driving throughout Ontario watching her kids play football and hockey.
Dr. Scott started working at Norwood Veterinary Services as a locum in 2017. Leslie takes pleasure in taking care of animals and their people. She graduated from Ontario Veterinary College in 2003. She is lucky enough to live on a farm near Hastings with her husband and two girls, their 2 dogs, 3 cats and 2 ponies.
Dr. Elliott started working as locum Veterinarian at Norwood Veterinary Services in May of 2019. He graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015. He is originally from the Rocky Mountains (Wyoming and Montana) and now lives in Peterborough County with his border collie Autumn.
Our friend Dr. Kelly has left NVS and started her exciting new life in Denmark! We will miss her greatly and wish her all the very best. We look forward to catching up with her when she’s back in town for a visit!
Dr. Facey graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1992 and has been providing veterinary care in the Kawartha Lakes area since that time. She is excited to be part of the Norwood Veterinary Services team, joining them as a locum in 2022. Dr Facey loves hiking with her Border Terrier Rocket and training for Endurance riding with Dash, her beautiful Arabian horse
Dr. Small holds a Bachelor of Science Honours from Trent University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College. She loves cats and dogs and is passionate about their care. She has a particular interest in dermatology and emergency medicine. Francesca lives in Peterborough with her family which includes an elderly corgi/terrier mix, Coen. In her spare time, she tries to be outdoors as much as possible hiking, swimming and paddle-boarding. She also loves to travel and volunteer. She has participated in outreach projects internationally to bring veterinary care to underserved communities.
Samantha graduated from Georgian College in 2013 and has worked in the field ever since. With a passion for animal medicine, she is thrilled to provide the highest quality care and service to all of our patients and their humans! She has a little boy (Brayden), 2 dogs (Kallie, Mister) and 3 cats (Phantom, Silverstein, Mocha) which take up most of her spare time!
Kelli joined the team in May of 2020 after working with Dr Scott and Dr James as a high school student 10 years ago! She graduated from the University of Guelph with a degree in Animal Biology in 2014 before deciding to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine including behaviour, nutrition and surgery. In her free time you can find her hiking with her dog Maverick, riding horses, or spending time with her own retired horse at home on her family farm near Hastings.
Kyla joined our team in the summer of 2022. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Georgian College in 2013. Kyla enjoys client education, medical cases, nutrition, radiology, anesthesia, always learning and improving skills! She has a daughter, Harper, who keeps her quite busy and two dogs Lenny and Solo. She is currently practicing our Fear Free approach to Veterinary Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys being at the cottage with her dogs!
Colleen joined our team in September 2019. She has had a passion and love of animals for as long as she can remember. She graduated from the veterinary technology program at Ridgetown College in 2010. Colleen enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine including educating clients, nutrition, hospitalization and emergency care. When Colleen is not working she enjoys spending time with her family at the cottage. She shares her home with her husband Bryce and their two daughters, plus their two golden retrievers Brodie and Dusty and cat named Monty.
Amanda joined the team in Norwood part-time in the fall of 2020. She graduated from St. Lawrence College in 2015 and has a special love for cats. She shares her home with 3 of her own cats Pepper, Whisper and Sushi. Amanda doesn’t have a lot of spare time right now as she has returned to school and is working toward her degree in medical laboratory science.
Jenny joined our team in February 2022. She graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Ridgetown College in 2011. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and is especially passionate about dentistry and anesthesia. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 daughters and Great Dane puppy Maui.
Jessica graduated from Ridgetown College in 2013 with a lifelong passion for working with animals. She says that although “life and family happened”, her love for caring for dogs and cats as a veterinary technician remained strong. If you see her at your next appointment, Jessica wants you to know that she is “here to make this easy and stress-free for both of you!” Jessica loves horses and camping with her husband, 2 kids and dogs – Charlie & Ranger.
Monique has recently graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Seneca College in 2021. She is deciding which path in Veterinary medicine she would like to further her studies in. For now, she is loving the clinic experience, meeting all the amazing patients and their people! Monique enjoys constantly learning new things and hanging out with her dog on her spare time. She has one fur-baby named Louie who is an Australian Shepherd.
Jordan joined our team in November 2022. In public school, she had aspirations of working in the veterinary field and we are so happy that she has joined us to make her dream come true. She enjoys learning about the ways to make our patients comfortable and happy. She adopted her dog Max in British Columbia several years ago and she is looking forward to many more years here at Norwood Veterinary Services.
Simone joined our team in June 2023. She previously worked in Toronto as a Veterinary Assistant for 4 years. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her variety of pets. She has a German shepherd mix named Ike, two cats named Kirby and Pit, and two snakes named Blue and Sponge.

One of the friendly voices you will hear and faces you will see at our clinic. Betty has been here for long time! She is great at multi-tasking and ensuring things are dealt with as soon as possible. She also helps to keep our clinic clean and organized. She has a few fur babies at home that keep her busy at home – a chihuahua named Burt Reynolds and a cat named Elliott.
Shannon has been working at Norwood Veterinary Services for roughly 9 years! She is very compassionate and skilled at her job. She has an amazing memory and remembers all clients and their lovely fur-babies! She has 3 cats (Slick, Bodhi and Romeo), and a very energetic dog (Eliza) and two children who keep her very busy! She spends most of her spare time at the rink or on the baseball fields!
Jo has been working in veterinary medicine for over 10 years!! She is a proud mom to her 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and has 4 furry kids at home! Her favourite part of her job is giving treats and snuggling with our patients whenever she gets a chance!
Tracey started her veterinary receptionist career in 2006 and has loved it ever since! Tracey has also supported various local dog rescues and has fostered and rehomed over 35 dogs! At home, she is kept busy with her dog Bandit, her two cats – Munchkin & Pumpkin and, her three kids of the 2-legged variety.

Stacey has worked in the veterinary field for over 14 years. She loves meeting all of the beautiful fur-babies, especially the grey ones! In her spare time, she enjoys being in nature, growing veggies and tending to the gardens at her farm.
After nearly 20 years as a Registered Nurse, Kerri decided to return to her love of working with animals and joined our team in June 2023. Her extensive background in healthcare management is being put to good use as our new Practice Manager where she can also enjoy interactions with our 4-legged clients. She is particularly fond of large & giant breed dogs. Kerri lives with her Boxer – Levi and several schools of fish. In her spare time, she loves hiking, riding horses, gardening, and painting.
