AAHA: Our hospital is fully accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association. This we believe to be a truly beneficial affiliation as it affords us many opportunities for continuing education. Our staff welcomes the triannual inspections of our facility to ensure that we maintain the high standards set by AAHA. Be sure to visit their website for pet owners at www.healthypet.com.
AAFP: In April of 2015 we achieved Cat Friendly Practice status from this organization. Our staff is dedicated to the improvement of the overall level of feline healthcare by becoming more accommodating to the distinct needs of cats.

Community Affiliations
Rescue Groups:
Our veterinary hospital assists a number of rescue and adoption agencies as well as those offering trap and release programs.
Service Dogs:
We welcome service dogs and their owners to our practice and are proud to provide care for these animals.
SPCA:
Dr. Carnegy enjoyed a long time affiliation with both the local and provincial branches of the SPCA and generously donated his time to these societies.
Halifax Regional Muncicipality:
Due to the success of the pilot project in 2001, our hospital acts as a deputy office so that pet owners may register their dogs and obtain their city tags.
Students:
A limited number of volunteer positions are made available from time to time for students wishing to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. When time and resources permit, students in high school, pharmacy and technician/veterinary assistant training are given an opportunity to spend time in the hospital to gain knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine. We also are pleased to offer practical experience to veterinary students as they seek to gain training and hands on experience.
