Preventative Care Physical Exam

Because animals can’t talk, a thorough physical exam is the most important test veterinarians have to assess the overall health of your pet. During the physical exam, we examine your pet from nose to tail, checking for common problems such as dental disease, lumps and bumps, heart murmurs, and weight gain. When done annually, it allows us to catch any problems early, before they begin to cause problems. We also assess the health of your pet’s eyes, ears, and skin, as well as his or her cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, and skeletal systems for any abnormalities. We then go over with you all of our findings, and recommend additional diagnostics or services such as blood and urine tests, dental cleaning, and x-rays if they are necessary.
